From: Brandon Yeager, Founder of the Real Estate Rocks Newsletter. Location: HouseRock Headquarters, Greensburg, PA Saturday 8:16 AM Dear Friend, Ever hear somebody say… “I could have had a stroke!” ? Well. I actually did have a stroke. Back in 2017. 44 years old. Long story short…doctors discovered I had a hole in my heart. It’s called a PFO (for inquiring minds). The local team of doctors treatment plan sounded like this:
Annie and I discussed and came to same conclusion: This sounded like a horrible plan! Through Annie’s relentless efforts, 3 months later I found myself on the operating table with UPMC Presby’s Director of their heart catherization program. Amazing dude. About my age. Tons of experience. It was like riding a bike for him. Now…contrast this with Cousin Chuck. Cousin Chuck just graduated near the bottom of his medical class as a new heart doctor. He is a Doctor though. In fact, He successfully completed his first procedure last month. Congratulations Chuck! And now You, dear Friend, have the amazing opportunity to be: Patient #2. What do YOU do with this decision? You had a stroke. Your heart has a hole in it. And You can choose between: The Director at UPMC presby… or Cousin Chuck. They both have the same license category with the state. Here is the painful reality. I see good, hardworking people, some who are closing in on retirement, and others who are getting ready to make one of the greatest financial decisions of their life buying and selling a home…they go with Cousin Chuck. Here is the real danger: It’s not always just what happens during the procedure. Several years ago, a guy I know, was discovered to have medical tubing left inside of him from a surgical procedure many years prior! Can you believe that? Real estate works nearly the same way. What happens after the closing…is oftentimes a result of bad decisions and bad advice that happened before the closing. And in many cases, even before the house went under contract. Moral of the story is this: Just like you shouldn’t leave your heart procedure to Cousin Chuck, You shouldn’t trust any of the 3 swings with the greatest financial asset to anybody other than a “Director” of their surgical department. Later, Brandon “No Tube Left Behind” Yeager PS. If you know anybody who is considering selling this year and they don’t want to “have medical tubing left inside their body” after the sale, please have them give me a call.
